    Razor burns can be treated using aloe Vera gel.  Aloe Vera has many healing powers. The razor burns will disappear after a few days with the help o aloe Vera. Moisturizing the skin using aloe Vera helps your skin to speed up the healing process. It is an all natural gel that is very effective in soothing any swelling and even the burning sensation accompanying the razor burns.  Get the aloe Vera juice or aloe Vera leaf and run the open leaf or gel on the affected razor burn area.  Let it dry before rinsing with cold water. The remedy should be used immediately and applied 2-3 times a day for a period of one week.

    Cold or hot compress

    Cold compress can also give you’re the razor burn relief.  The cold temperature works by numbing the nerve endings temporarily alleviating discomfort. For better results you can use cold compress after shaving to prevent the razor burns and bumps before it even starts.

    Hot compress will help soothe the itchiness as well as treat ingrown hair. It will cause opening of the skin pores freeing trapped hair. Place a hot towel or heating pad on the bikini area immediately after shaving. Allow the heat to warm the skin for 5 minutes before moisturizing it normally.

However, take care because it can bring about pH imbalance causing amphoteric nature of the irritated skin. To do this, combine one cup o water with one teaspoonful o baking soda. Soak cotton wool in the resulting solution and run in the affected area.  Keep the area wet for about 5 minutes before rinsing with cold water. Repeat for a week for better results.

    It has many medicinal qualities that greatly help in treatment of skin problems. Tea tree oil is rich in antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic agent. The oil helps bring down swelling preventing razor burns from infection. Mix the oil with lavender oil and rub the mixture on affected area. Leave it or 15 minutes to penetrate. Thereafter rinse with cold water 2-3 times a day for effective treatment.


     Honey works wonders in preventing and treating razor burns and bumps.  It has antibacterial properties hence can heal infected razor burns. It also provides protection against infection. It reduces swelling and keeps the affected skin moisturized. Apply a liberal amount on irritated skin. Allow it to dry before your rinse with cold water.

    The acetic acid present helps keep infection at bay. Apple cider vinegar is a widely know anti-inflammatory agent which reduces swelling after shaving. In addition, it has anti-itching properties. For application, soak the cotton wool I it and pat it to the infected area. If your skin is very sensitive you can first of all dilute it.
