    Some easy steps to treat gout and manage pain

    1. You should lose weight:

    Losing weight will reduce uric acid level and with balanced
    healthy meals and exercise you will lose weight and reduce gout
    attacks.

    2. Reduce purine intake:

    Breaking down of purines inside body is main step in making
    uric acid.

    a. Foods you should avoid:
    Liver, kidney, heart, rabbit, anchovies, mackerel,
    sardines, crab, shrimps and mussels.

    b. Food you can eat in moderation:
    Beef, lamb, chicken, baked beans, kidney beans,
    soybeans, asparagus, bran and whole meal bread.

    c. Low purine foods:
    Milk, cheese, yoghurt, eggs, pasta, fruits and
    vegetables.

    3. Vitamin C:

    Studies have shown that increasing vitamin c intake can
    increase removing uric acid via kidney.

    4. Drink enough water:

    Drinking at least 1.5 liters of water a day
    reduces crystals forming in the kidney.

    5. Reduce alcohol and beer intake:

    Alcohol increase your risk of developing gout attacks.

    6. Rest and put ice on the affected joint to
    reduce the pain.

    7. Avoid drinking soda, fruit juice and sweet
    drinks.

    8. Medications:

    Non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs ,corticosteroids and
    colchicine are appropriate option for treatment of acute gout.
